Message Had the Z out today and went into a store for about 10 minutes, came back out and saw smoke coming out from under the hood. Grabbed my halon extinguisher, popped the hood and it it was coming from just behind the passenger side of the motor, around the turbo area with lots of crackling sounds. I was thinking fire or melting cable/line on the hot turbo at this point (I'd been boosting, and it was good).

Grabbed a flashlight but I couldn't see anything. Worse yet, I can barely smell anything (been really sick lately). This made diagnosis a real bitch but I swear I could smell a faint odor of coolant...and it was pillowy white so maybe it was steam and something else back there related to a coolant line or block plug? Anyway, normally I'd be Mr. Careful and tow it to Greg but he's gone for a week and I was a block from home, so I limped it there. No new smoke, nothing at all in fact.

So that's where I'm at. Car is home and safe, battery disconnected and I watched it for 30 minutes to make sure nothing caught. If I get in there and check it this weekend and find no burned cables, what else should I look for? Anyone else had this happen? Any advice appreciated!
